We’re Hiring: Senior Software Engineer (Clojure) Remote At Sombra Inc.

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with strong experience in Clojure to join our engineering team. This role is focused on designing and implementing decisioning models in a high-availability, high-performance financial platform. You will collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to model and evolve the core logic that supports loan eligibility, risk assessment, and business rule execution.

Requirements:

Strong command of Clojure and functional programming principles.
Familiarity with the JVM ecosystem (Java interop, tooling).
Experience building production-grade services in financial or data-heavy systems.
Solid understanding of API design and integration

Nice to have:

Experience with fintech platforms or risk/eligibility modeling.
Knowledge of distributed systems and high-throughput data processing.

Responsibilities:

Develop, maintain, and improve Clojure services
Collaborate with engineering leadership and product managers
Support scalability, performance, and fault tolerance
Contribute to documentation and code reviews
