The School of Finance, Economics, and Government at Universidad EAFIT (2nd university at the national level according to IDEAS/RePEc) invites applications for a position as Assistant/Associate Professor in the area of Macroeconomics & Financial Systems. Starting dates are flexible, between January and August, 2027.

The ideal candidate should have training and research experience in one or more of the following fields: macrofinance and macroprudential policy; finance and development; investment and growth; misallocation and productivity; sovereign debt and bond markets; pension systems.

The selected candidate will join an interdisciplinary research and teaching team with national and international reach, and with close ties to financial institutions, governments, and multilateral organizations.

Applicants must have a PhD in Economics by the starting date or shortly thereafter, show promise of a strong research agenda (or a track record of publications for associate rank), and passion for teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels, both in Spanish and English.  We especially encourage applications from women.

Based in Medellín, Colombia, EAFIT offers generous research budgets on a competitive basis. Teaching assignments are flexible and load reductions are assigned on a competitive basis. Salaries for all ranks are competitive, with generous bonus payments for grants, publications and consultancy. Tenure-track professors showing promise in their skills will be offered a permanent contract after a tenure review.
