The School of Management at Universidad EAFIT invites applications for a full-time, fixed-term faculty position in Global Management-International Relations.

Preferred starting date: July 2026

About the Academic Area of Global Management

The Academic Area of Global Management is home to Colombia’s leading undergraduate program in International Business, with over 1,000 students enrolled. The area also contributes to:

  • The Master in International Business (taught entirely in English)
  • Graduate certificate programs in International Business 
  • Doctoral-level supervision and research
  • Spanish proficiency (minimum B2 level for non-native speakers).
  • Evidence of research productivity or strong publication potential in recognized indexed journals.
  • At least two years of full-time teaching experience or four years of relevant professional experience.
  • Capacity to design and deliver courses at undergraduate and graduate levels.

Contract Conditions

One-year, full-time fixed-term contract, renewable based on institutional needs and performance.

Location: Universidad EAFIT main campus, Medellín, Colombia (with occasional short-term travel).

Competitive salary.

Under certain conditions and in accordance with the Faculty Statute, this position may lead to a permanent appointment.

Application Requirements

Applicants should submit:

1. Complete your Curriculum Vitae in Magneto and please attach your file

2. Copies of undergraduate and graduate diplomas (foreign degrees must be officially recognized /validated in Colombia or at least be in the process of being recognized/validated).

3. Evidence of teaching experience (including recent teaching evaluations if available).

4. Research output from the last five years (journal articles, books, conference papers, etc.).

5. Proof of English proficiency (C1 minimum).

6. A one-page academic development proposal outlining a five-year plan for:

  • Teaching contributions and course development.

Our distinctive approach situates International Relations within a School of Management context, fostering reflection on how international politics, global governance, economic integration, and diplomacy shape firm internationalization. 

Position Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be expected to:

Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in International Relations and related fields (in English).

Contribute to research in International Relations, International Political Economy, and/or Economic Integration. 

Supervise graduate research projects.

Develop research projects individually and collaboratively.

Publish in indexed and internationally recognized academic journals.

Participate in academic administration and curriculum development.

Engage in executive education, outreach, and consulting initiatives aligned with the area’s mission.

Teaching Areas

The candidate should be prepared to teach courses such as:

International Relations

Introduction to International Studies

International Organizations

Comparative International Studies

Commercial Diplomacy

Required Qualifications

  • PhD or DBA (completed) or near completion (candidature) in International Business, Management, International Relations, International Political Economy, International Economics, or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated academic experience in International Studies and/or Economic Integration.
  • Ability to teach undergraduate courses in English (minimum C1 level).
  • Research agenda and potential funding sources.
  • Engagement with research groups and international networks.
  • Outreach, executive education, and societal impact activities.

Finalists in the selection process will be invited to conduct a teaching audition in English on a pre-selected topic.
