Master Production Scheduler (MPS)

Job Summary:

The Master Production Scheduler is responsible for developing and maintaining an enterprise-wide production schedule that aligns demand with resource capabilities. This role ensures stability and efficiency in production planning, minimizes inventory risks, and supports timely delivery of products. The MPS collaborates across departments to balance customer requirements, forecasts, and operational constraints. Bilingual Spanish/English.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and maintain the master production schedule for the organization.
• Balance demand and resource capabilities to ensure optimal production flow.
• Determine gross demand by analyzing forecasts, customer orders, and interplant requirements.
• Collaborate with Sales, Manufacturing, and other departments to align production with business needs.
• Maintain schedule stability within a fixed planning window to prevent disruptions and excessive inventory.
• Monitor and adjust schedules based on changes in demand or resource availability.
• Provide clear communication of production plans to stakeholders.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
• Experience: Significant experience in manufacturing operations and production scheduling.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in MRP and ERP systems.
• Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Soft Skills:
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage complexity and present plans effectively.

Required Knowledge:

• In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes and resource constraints.
• Familiarity with the organization’s products and production capabilities.
• Knowledge of industry-specific computer technologies and scheduling tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

• APICS CPIM or CSCP certification.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Advanced ERP system expertise (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
