Join us as a Project Manager and lead and comprehensively manage the life cycle of rebar supply and manufacturing projects, from award to final delivery and closure, ensuring scope compliance, schedule coordination, tonnage control, and effective communication between the client and the internal areas involved.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the project initiation and communication with the client, establishing key contacts, start dates, sequence, and major milestones.
- Track project tonnage, monitoring detailed, released, and shipped tonnage for each assigned project.
- Ensure scope alignment throughout execution, documenting and tracking deviations, clarifications, or changes.
- Develop and maintain weekly planning and a four-week forecast, defining detailing and manufacturing requirements.
- Prepare and share weekly project status reports (“Snapshots”), including materials shipped, upcoming releases, and open risks or actions.
- Monitor and control project tonnage, comparing proposed to detailed, released, and shipped tonnage, and identifying and escalating schedule or balance risks in a timely manner.
- Ensure integration between detailing, manufacturing, and the project schedule, working closely with the Plant Manager on shipment scheduling. Serve as the primary point of contact with the client throughout the project, managing requests, inquiries, and communications until project closure.
- Receive, record, and investigate discrepancies reported by the client, utilizing barcodes, dispatch records, ERP information, and project documentation.
- Issue formal progress reports upon reaching 67% and 100% completion, applicable to projects exceeding 160 tons.
- Manage outstanding items and support internal project closure, tracking discrepancies or change orders and providing accurate information for post-project reviews.
Requirements:
- Professional in Civil, Mechanical, Metallurgical, Production Engineering or related fields.
- English level B2+ or higher.
- +5 years of experience managing construction projects, preferably related to concrete and reinforcing steel structures, with solid knowledge of construction and building processes.
- Understanding the structural typology and construction sequence (elements such as piles, pier caps, grade beams, slab on grade, walls, double layer of reinforcement, etc.)
- Familiarity with BIM viewers (Revit, Navisworks) for 3D extraction and advanced Excel proficiency.
- Practical knowledge of norms and standards such as: ACI 318, CRSI Standard Practice Manual, ASTM A615/A706/A955 (or regional equivalents), and transportation/labor cost principles.
